Planning Commission
January 17, 2012



The Planning Commission met on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in the Planning and Development Office Conference Room. The following members were present:  Chairman; Don Hamilton, Mario DiPietro, Pat Webb, Ray Williams, Jim Robinson, and Building Official; Tommy Holcombe.


Mr. Don Hamilton; Chairman open the meeting by explaining that the Planning Commission is an advisory board and the next two readings are with the city council for approval. The procedure has changed for you to speak and sign up at the council meeting you can sign up to speak 5 minutes before the meeting which starts at 7:00 pm.


The following item were presented to the board:


Rezoning request from Palmetto Research Properties, LLC, 205 South B. Street (owner Mr. Don Craig, 203 Medinah Drive, Easley, SC)-Pickens County Tax #’s 5029-13-04-9071 from Residential (R-10) to Neighborhood Commercial (NC).

Shirley Winchester, from Allen Tate Realtors and Gary Clemmons, from Palmetto Research Properties, LLC was present at the meeting to represent the owners.  Mr. Clemmons stated that they just want to expand their business. They own the lot next to it and they are going to combine the lots and add on to existing building and they are out growing their building.

Mr. Tommy Holcombe stated that our office has had one phone call one neighbor called and just wanted to know what the property was being zoned.

After a brief discussion, Mario made a motion to accept this request as the rezoning of NC (Neighborhood Commercial), Pat second, all in favor to accept this rezoning request. 


There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
